Dear friends,

It fills my heart with joy and gratitude to share a piece of my journey with you—a journey rooted in our childhood dreams, nurtured by loving parents, and guided by the enduring values our parents instilled in us: kindness, humility, and sincerity. These values have quietly shaped our lives, showing up in the ways we care for one another and serve our communities.

This moment is both humbling and joyful, made possible by the shared dedication of dear friends, Governance, Risk, Compliance, resiliency, and cybersecurity leaders. We are blessed with an incredible team of professionals across various domains, including legal, business, marketing, data center, and cloud. Most importantly, we were uplifted by the unwavering spirit of volunteers from interfaith and minority-led nonprofits—individuals who work tirelessly to support families, youth, and elders with compassion and dignity.

My path of service began in Karachi, Pakistan, and continued in Silicon Valley, where I had the privilege of volunteering with nonprofits that support individuals with disabilities and provide professional training for minority families and students. With the generous support of Cisco leadership, we donated switches and routers to build hands-on training labs—spaces where learning became tangible and empowering.

Driven by a deep passion for uplifting others, I strive to make complex networking concepts approachable, drawing from hands-on experience with Cisco TAC and daily lab practice to build students’ confidence and capabilities. By weaving real-world examples into learning, I’ve helped open career pathways at Cisco and beyond for underrepresented families and professionals, while guiding students through job applications and interviews with renewed hope and clarity.

Over time, this mission grew, reaching underserved communities and creating pathways for low-income individuals to uplift their families and build brighter futures.

Today, I’m honored to introduce a new chapter in this journey: a mobile app designed to support food distribution efforts across interfaith and community-based nonprofits. This app was created with care to help nonprofits:

  • Organize food collection and distribution events
  • Share announcements and donation requests
  • Coordinate volunteer teams and assign tasks
  • Track food pantry inventory and pickup requests
  • Maintain nonprofit accounting for tax reporting

This tool is more than technology—it’s a reflection of our shared commitment to compassion, dignity, and service.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Your support, encouragement, and belief in community care continue to inspire everything we do.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Rizwan Ashraf
